The primary place of work will be NGI's Perth office. Candidates should be ready to travel on assignments both nationally and internationally as required. Opportunities may arise for temporary or extended work periods at NGI's other offices in Oslo and Houston

About You

We are actively seeking Geoscientists (Geology and/or Geophysics) with varying levels of experience to join our growing team in Perth. Duties will align with NGI's core values of trust, collaboration, action, and integrity.

Successful candidates will be expected to interact seamlessly with our teams across offices in Perth, Oslo, and Houston, as well as with our valued clients. Candidates must demonstrate reliability and a systematic approach, showcasing the ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. Essential attributes include strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Tasks Include
  • Data compilation
    • Geological data
    • Geomorphological data (bathymetry/ topography, side scan sonar, video, satellite imagery)
    • 2D and 3D Geophysical datasets (reflection seismic, sub-bottom profiling, refraction seismic, resistivity, magnetics)
    • Geotechnical data (borehole logs, cone penetration tests, laboratory tests)
    • Infrastructure data
    • Anthropogenic and Environmental conditions
  • Data acquisition
    • Survey planning
    • Field representation
    • Core logging
  • Data processing and interpretation
    • Geological data
    • Geomorphological data
    • 2D and 3D Geophysical datasets
    • Geotechnical data
  • Data integration/ Ground model development
    • Geological data
    • Geomorphological data
    • 2D and 3D Geophysical datasets
    • Geotechnical data (borehole logs, cone penetration tests, laboratory tests)
    • Geohazard assessment
    • Geo-engineering assessments (supporting and assisting)
  • Reporting and Presentation
  • Project planning and management
  • Developing tools and workflows
  • Tender preparation
  • Research and development
Relevant Qualifications and Experience
  • University degree (BSc / MSc/ PhD) in Geology or Geophysics
  • Knowledge of Quaternary/ shallow geology
  • Experience in geological/ geophysical interpretation software and GIS tools, such as IHS Kingdom and ArcGIS is favorable. 
  • Programming and scripting
  • Field data acquisition
  • Experience working with geotechnical data and collaborating with geotechnical engineers
  • Applicants must have lawful right to work in Australia at the time of application.
