The Opportunity
Play Matters Australia currently has a 4-month fixed term position, for a Graduate Music Therapist to join the Sing&Grow team to deliver programs across Southeast Queensland.
Working 51 hours per fortnight, the successful applicant will deliver evidence-based music therapy services to parents and children aged 0 - 5, in early intervention settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the establishment and delivery of clinical services under the guidance of the Senior Clinical Specialist and/or State Manager, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for families and children.
- Plan and organise activities to meet program outcomes, develop session materials according to the clinical manual, and tailor session content to the group's needs and interests, ensuring compliance with funder specifications.
- Facilitate a safe, engaging session experience, moderating to enhance participant engagement and communicating with parents to address specific children's needs within the program's scope.
- Provide guidance to Host Organisation workers, maintain professional boundaries with families, collaborate with partners for program effectiveness, and handle local enquiries about session participation.
- Comply with Play Matters Australia's policies and procedures, manage administrative tasks, ensure timely reporting according to funder requirements, maintain participant confidentiality, and accurately enter data in management systems.
Essential Criteria:
- Post graduate qualification in music therapy
- Current registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association
- Holds or is eligible to hold a Working with Children Check

- Knowledge of the industry.
