Moe (Albert Street) Primary School is situated in the Central Business District of Moe, in the Latrobe Valley Gippsland. The school¿s student population is currently at 140 and is supported through a strongly defined curriculum as well a welfare, integration, extended transition and community based programs which is underpinned by the Framework for Improving Student Outcomes. Our school comprises of a Junior Unit (F-3) and a Senior Unit (Years 4-6) based around collaborative learning and teaching.

The School implements a number of extra curricular activities including gardening (lunch time group) and arts.
Purposeful planning occurs during unit and whole school Professional Learning Communities. Numeracy and Literacy data is collected as per our Foundation- Year 6 assessment schedule. Extensive interviews are held with each new family enrolling at the school to ensure their child is strategically placed to meet social, emotional and academic needs.
Student leadership is strongly embedded into the Albert Street School Community. Throughout the year the senior students are mentored about leadership qualities through formal and informal opportunities. These include participation in the Moe Rotary Scholarship Awards, inducting visitors to the school, peer mentoring junior students. School Captains plan and implement weekly assemblies while Sport Captains are responsible for lunchtime activities and equipment. Junior School Councilors are responsible for input into policy review, fundraising and capturing the voice of the student community.
The School Council plays a significant role in the governance of our school, in particular with the review of polices and overseeing the Annual Implementation Plan. A growing volunteer cohort of family members assists with cooking, gardening, fundraising and general classroom assistance.
Albert Street Primary School has a strong established partnership with local organisations and businesses such as Bunnings, Moe Rotary, Moe Lions, Federation University and Latrobe Community Health. The school also has a Ready, Set Grow program which operates in term 3 and 4 to assist with the transition of pre-school children. Albert Street Primary School has Outside Hours School Care Program.
