Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

This role will create and manage the overall design and visual style for The Kids’ Cancer Project campaigns, appeals, events, and brand activities. 

KEY DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to formulate, develop and deliver innovative graphic and design responses to communications challenges. 
  • Support the marketing and communications team on developing and executing brand activities in line with The Kids’ Cancer Project strategy. 
  • Act as a Brand Champion for the organisation and ensure all content adheres to The Kids’ Cancer Project brand and style guidelines. 
  • Manage design projects from concept stage through production and delivery.
  • Liaise with and coordinate external suppliers (including designers, illustrators, digital developers, and printers) as required, including providing branding guidelines, developing briefs, setting timelines and checking proofs. 
  • Identify and create compelling stories to successfully reach target audiences through different channels. 
  • Contribute to the development of tactical marketing campaigns and develop strategies to amplify content across The Kids’ Cancer Project channels. 
  • Provide general support at internal and external events.
  • Lead The Kids’ Cancer Project design offering including staying ahead of industry trends and best practice.
  • Ensure that the Head of Marketing is informed of any issue which may affect staff, external stakeholders and/or service delivery.
     

Visual Design

  • Manage The Kids’ Cancer Project brand visuals and work with the marketing and communications team to create materials across a variety of touch points including print, digital and film; for all owned and paid channels. 
  • Lead, direct, design and execute brand expressions across corporate, campaigns, community fundraising and individual giving teams and their campaigns, appeals and events, in line with the brand guidelines. 
  • Lead the creative development and design of all marketing, corporate, campaign, appeal and event collateral across offline and online mediums. 
  • Ensure visual cohesiveness of The Kids’ Cancer Project brand, sub-brands and entities through a branded house approach.
  • Create marketing assets (including motion graphics or animation and video editing/production) that drive increased awareness of The Kids’ Cancer Project brand, initiatives and events to internal and external audiences. 
  • Create Canva templates for corporate, campaigns, community fundraising and individual giving so those team members can complete quick design tasks that are on brand and require minimal oversight.
  • Develop integrated advertising and other promotional materials across print and digital mediums from concept through to production ready artwork in line with commercial specifications.
  • Guardian of The Kids’ Cancer Project brand and all proprietary fundraising products with active input into the evolution of brand and products.
  • Monitor emerging media technologies and trends, and develop recommendations based on insights.  
  • Input to and maintenance of The Kids’ Cancer Project visual assets library.


Technical expertise

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience designing using Canva and PowerPoint
  • Experience in developing motion graphics.
  • Must be proficient in art working for print and preparing print-ready files in line with mailing house specifications.

To provide scientists with the funding they need to make discoveries, translate pioneering research, advance treatments and build support programs that will improve survival rates for all young people with cancer and allow them to thrive after treatment.

Hybrid work - 2 days working from home, 3 days in office. 

19 day working month.
