Job description

Overview: As part of our growing team, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Greenhouse Supervisor to oversee horticultural production activities and ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise production staff, and labourers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Monitor employee performance, conduct regular evaluations, and address any performance issues or training needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of greenhouse management, including planting, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest control.
  • Monitor plant health and growth, identify and address any issues or abnormalities, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure the production of high-quality horticultural products that meet customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks throughout the production process, identifying and resolving any quality issues or deviations from standards.
  • Manage resources such as labour, staff schedule, equipment, and materials efficiently to optimize production output and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of inputs and supplies required for production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, protocols, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for employees.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications /Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in horticultural production, greenhouse management, or nursery operations required.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
  • You must hold a PR, Australian Citizenship or a valid working visa
  • Ability to speak English
