The Grid Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning activities of our client's transmission grid infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the commissioning process for transmission grid infrastructure projects, including substations, power lines, and associated equipment.
- Develop comprehensive commissioning plans and schedules in coordination with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure the timely completion of commissioning activities, including testing, energization, and handover.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures to mitigate hazards during commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the commissioning process.
- Provide technical expertise and support to troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in the commissioning process.
- Prepare commissioning reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for project records and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in commissioning large-scale transmission grid infrastructure projects, with a minimum of 8 years in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, substations, switchgear, protection relays, and other relevant equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Sound understanding of safety protocols, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements in the energy industry.
- Experience with commissioning software, testing procedures, and diagnostic tools preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
