The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Grid Connections Engineer to join our Engineering and Planning team in Perth, WA or Brisbane, QLD on a Permanent Full Time Basis.
Reporting to the Grid Connections Manager, you will play a key role in delivering customer focused service with a value add mind-set that drives operational excellence across APA facilities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all connections, disconnections and reconnections for power assets connected to grid power systems and develop strategies for grid connection management and continuous improvement
  • Ensure all power assets meet technical NER compliance requirements, including frequency, voltage, stability and fault clearance obligations
  • Ensure all relevant AER/AEMO and power grid requirements are captured in safety management plans for power assets
  • Support robust technical governance across all matters associated with NER and Grid connection compliance requirements
  • Maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with peers, customers and stakeholders (both internal and external)
Your Background
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent experience (Required).
  • Extensive experience in the administration and operation of grid connected high voltage electrical installations and transmission systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian codes and statutory requirements.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills
