Our Cadia operation in INTEGRATED PLANNING - MINING PROJECTS is now recruiting for the position of GROUND CONTROL TECHNICIAN.

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to start their mining career in the field of Ground Control and geotechnical support. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of Ground Control. As the successful candidate, you'll provide geotechnical support to both Underground and Surface Operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment.

Other key deliverables include:

• Conduct regular inspections of underground mine workings to identify and assess Ground Control risks.
• Help implement and maintain geotechnical systems and procedures.
• Work with Geotechnical Engineers on underground evaluations and improvement projects.
• Quality Control inspections of sprayed fibrecrete, installed mesh, installed reinforcement, osro strap and injected resin.
• Quality Assurance audits of fibrecrete supply, spraying of fibrecrete, mesh, straps, jumbo – friction, resin bolts, cable bolting, Consumables Storage and injected Resin.
• Monitoring of Ground Control damage and deformation, Impromptu inspections of mechanical damage, mapping new development and corrosion.
• Inspecting and testing via Quality Control certificates from suppliers

• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
• Working at Heights & Dogging Licence desirable

Please note: This is a residential role based at our Cadia operation in NSW. You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
