Our client is seeking a dedicated grounds maintenance worker to join their team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of our grounds.
About the role
The Grounds team member's role is to ensure the presentation of the grounds and its surroundings are kept to a high standard to reflect our client's values.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, and pruning to keep outdoor areas tidy and well-maintained.
- Plant, water and fertilize flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the appearance of the landscape.
- Remove weeds, debris, and or litter from flower beds, walkways, and other outdoor areas.
- Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance, including checking for leaks, adjusting sprinkler heads, and programming irrigation timers.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks on outdoor structures, fences, and equipment.
- Collaborate without team members to plan and execute landscaping projects and seasonal maintenance activities.
- Reporting faults and failures including WHS issues in the operation in the operation or management of any aspect.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic landscaping techniques and practices.
- Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to work as a part of a team.
- Professional and positive hard worker with an excellent work ethic.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Chemical certificate (desirable)
- Industrial white card (desirable).
- Asbestos Awareness certificate (desirable).
- Truck Licence (desirable).
