As a part of this, the Grounds include the original buildings from 1863 which are listed by the National Trust, in addition to a complex of modern facilities. Our external sporting complex at Brassall hosts Cricket, Football, Rugby, Cross Country and other outdoor Activities.
We are seeking the expertise of a motivated and energetic Grounds & Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilites and Grounds team to actively contribute to the overall maintenance and presentation of our School Grounds & Sporting fields.
Reporting to the Facilities and Grounds Supervisor, the Grounds & Maintenance Assistant role is responsible for:
- contribute to maintaining a high level of presentation of our Facilities and Grounds at all times, including buildings, gardens and lawns;
- general grounds duties, including mowing, pruning, hedging, weeding, fertilising, sprinkler systems and propagating;
- general maintenance, upgrades and/or repair tasks of School facilities as requested, which may include paving, concreting, bricklaying, carpentry and/ or painting;
- maintain all roads, pathways and grates to ensure that they are clean and free from rubbish, weeds and other debris;
- pressure washing of external walkways, surfaces of buildings and awnings;
- general use and basic preventative maintenance of machinery including tractors, mowers, whipper snippers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, etc;
- preparation and maintenance of School sports fields i.e. rugby, athletics, cricket and cross country. This may involve mowing, fertilising, line marking, wicket maintenance, set up and dismantling of any sports equipment required for home games;
- assist with venue set up for any school events/occasions including moving and setting up furniture and equipment; and
- any other duties as requested by the Facilities Manager.
The successful candidate may possess:
- a professional and friendly approach;
- some relevant industry experience, certificate or diploma;
- landscaping knowledge or general maintenance/ trade experience would be advantageous; and
- exceptional attention to detail.
