About the role - We are seeking a Grounds Officer with a passion for maintaining our beautiful grounds and buildings, and who is keen to be part of a school community.
The applicant we are seeking should be enthusiastic, energetic and really enjoy working in the great outdoors, have proven organisation abilities, a genuine interest in tending and caring for our gardens, sporting fields, grounds and maintaining our buildings and facilities. The successful applicant will be required to feel ownership for the care and presentation of the schools grounds, be a flexible thinker and have an ability to manage multiple tasks.
Duties will include:
- Mowing and maintaining our grounds (experience maintaining and caring for quality turf an advantage)
- Minor landscaping work
- Maintaining clean and tidy school grounds
- Routine non-trade maintenance and repairs
- Providing feedback into planning, preparing and development of school grounds
- Liaising with contractors
- Support school security systems
- Liaise with various internal and external personnel on issues of facilities
- Assist with setting up significant school events
- Compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
About you - Ideally you will have previous experience in a groundskeeping role, preferably in a school environment. You will also have a good work ethic and seek to achieve quality work whilst maintaining the highest level of safety. A good level of fitness is required for the role, as is an ability to access an online maintenance portal.
