With a commitment to excellence, and Employee well-being, they are seeking a skilled Group Industrial and Employee Relations Manager to join their team and navigate the complexities of industrial relations within the context of multiple awards.
Position Overview: As the Group Industrial and Employee Relations Manager you will play a pivotal role in fostering positive employer-Employee Relationships and ensuring compliance with a diverse array of awards governing our operations. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of various awards, a strategic approach to negotiations, and a commitment to maintaining a harmonious work environment and industry relationships.
About You: In this role you will be reporting to the COO and working with an experienced HR team deeply embedded in company and its culture. You may already be a current Head of Industrial Relations, or this could be a stretch role for you, with a strong willingness to learn. In terms of location, several options will be considered.
Specifically; Orange, Bathurst, Dubbo, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane. You will need to have the ability to travel nationally on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry updates.
- Ensure full compliance with all awards, providing guidance to management and Employees on award interpretation and implementation.
- Lead negotiations with employee representatives and unions to establish fair and equitable terms and conditions of employment.
- Act as a mediator in resolving industrial disputes, grievances, and conflicts, fostering a positive working environment.
- Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures related to industrial relations and Employee Relations, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct training sessions for management and Employees on industrial relations matters, promoting awareness and understanding of relevant awards and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR to design and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Provide guidance on performance management processes, ensuring fair and consistent application across the organization.
- Participate in and lead collective bargaining processes, representing the organization's interests and fostering positive relationships with unions and Employee representatives.
- Maintain accurate records of industrial relations activities, incidents, and outcomes.
- Generate regular reports for senior management on key industrial relations metrics and trends.
Knowledge, experience & attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in industrial relations management, preferably within a diverse corporate environment.
- Thorough knowledge of the specified awards and relevant industrial relations legislation.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing effective industrial relations strategies.
