These operations are our Rix’s Creek Mine northwest of Singleton, and our Bloomfield Mine east of Maitland. Coal from the Rix’s Creek Mine and Bloomfield Mine is railed to the Port of Newcastle, and loaded onto ships using Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS). Bloomfield is a founding member and shareholder of PWCS, and we proudly own and operate Kings Engineering, a leading NSW Engineering business.About the roleAs the Group Sustainability Reporting Manager you will report directly to The Bloomfield Group CFO and will lead the implementation of AASB Sustainability Reporting standards, gather and verify data and measures, audit processes and documentation and produce accurate content for The Bloomfield Group's annual Sustainability Report.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Group ESG project team to produce high quality, verified sustainability data and prepare the sustainability report to the tight deadlines of the half-year and full year financial reporting cycle
- Become the content expert on financial disclosure matters related to sustainability and climate risk
- Provide guidance on interpretation and developing controls, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with AASB sustainability standards
- Collaborate internally to prepare for the mandatory disclosures and to promote integration of systems and processes required for AASB requirements and other mandatory external requirements
- Design systems and reports to automate data collection and minimise duplication of effort in managing ESG data
- Identify, report on and rectify control weaknesses and deficiencies in sustainability data and reports
- Collaborate with business units to plan and deliver programs to meet sustainability targets and business objectives
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability and climate risk legislation and benchmarking our performance and disclosure against industry peers
- Engage and manage external consultants and develop in house expertise
- Analyse Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data and provide meaningful reports and forecasts to support sustainability risk management decisions
- Liaise with the Communications Manager to develop plain English material to communicate meaningful information on ESG projects and initiatives to internal stakeholders
- Degree qualified accountant with and CA/CPA membership and a minimum of seven years post graduate experience
- Genuine interest in supporting ESG initiatives in a difficult to abate industry
- Experience in the implementation of new accounting standards (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in data analysis
- Talent for process review and internal audit
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to create clear, comprehensive and accurate sustainability reports
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally with stakeholders of all levels to drive outcomes and manage change to support the implementation of ESG initiatives and sustainability reports
