An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven, GUESS Buyer to join our GUESS Buying Team for a Maternity Leave contract.

We would like the successful candidate to start as early as April 2024. 

What does our GUESS Buyer do?

  • Analyse and evaluate key performance indicators (KPI’s) to assess and highlight areas of strong performance.  
  • Evaluate and analyse historical data ensuring future buying plans are appropriately aligned to the department and Brand strategy.
  • Utilise criteria such as pricing, styling, colours, fabrics, units, sizes, SKU’s per store, stores and locations, to ensure the achievement of a balanced assortment in line with the sales plan.
  • Analyse and evaluate sales and financial reports.
  • Ensure that outcomes of internal and external supplier negotiations have a direct impact on the performance and profitability of the Brand.
  • Keen eye and ability to assort a range into clear visual messages.
  • Develop product strategy for Retail including promotional activity, sales and flow plans.
  • Attend Market; select retail assortment in line with OTB, margin and RRP targets.                                                       
  • Monitor replenishment and seasonal products.
  • Manage and maintain accurate Merchandise Assortment Plans (MAPs).
  • Monitor and analyse competitor activities and consumer demands.  
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the customer base by participating in-store visits.
  • Liaise closely with the Visual Merchandise Manager to ensure that the merchandise assortment is translated in all stores as per Brand standards and directives.
  • Provide regular feedback to International Brand Headquarters with regard to Brand and product performance.
  • Oversee the management of Wholesale activity for the same category in managing your Category Buyer. 

What qualities do we want you to have?

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Intermediate Excel V- Lookup and pivot table creation skills 
  • Strong analytical capabilities and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills, adherence to deadlines
  • Confident using software programs and ERP systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player with a 'can do attitude'
  • Previous experience in wholesale Account Management ideal
