Our Hamilton Island Holiday Homes department offers unique self-catering accommodation options across the island for our valued guests. We're currently managing 160 individually-owned holiday homes around the island, ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 7-bedroom luxury homes, and we continue to expand.
Hamilton Island Holiday Homes has an opportunity for an experienced and organised Handyperson Supervisor to join our professional and guest focused team. You are responsible for all aspects of presenting a pleasing and safe environment for our guests. It is an organisational role that calls for a creative thinker who can react, and plan and implement solutions to areas of concern. You will also be liaising and engaging with qualified tradespeople and ensuring that a high quality standard is provided to our guests

Your Role
Leading a team of handymen you're responsible for ensuring all buildings, fixtures and fittings are maintained and repaired on a timely basis.
Your average day may see you cleaning gutters, getting a TV working, fixing a door, moving picnic tables, demolishing a wall, sanding, doing minor repairs throughout the resort.
You will also:
- Ensure maintenance and security for all tools and equipment that are the property of HIE
- Display and uphold the HIE Values, as well as demonstrate a commitment to adhere to HIE policies, procedures and guidelines
- Conduct all work in a safe manner and ensure all compliance requirements are fulfilled in accordance with Industry regulations
- Ensure quality control and effective time management is maintained at all times
- Provide up-to-date and accurate administration for all relevant processes within the maintenance department
- Prepare work rosters in accordance with productivity standards and work priorities. Checks all timesheets for accuracy and carry out Workforce approvals; monitor, and report any absences due to sick leave etc. (if required)
- Be responsible for work allocation and directing staff
- Motivate and inspire the team
- Assist and support the Maintenance Management team with other duties as directed, commensurate with the nature and level of this position
- Be responsible for all departmental induction and training
About You
- Valid driver licence (Essential)
- White construction card (Essential)
- Work Safely at Heights
- Elevated Work Platform above 11 metres (Highly regarded)
- Partial trade qualifications an asset
- Reliable and flexible attitude
- Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
