The Tasmania team are looking for an experienced Harvest Lead to join the Blackberry team, this role will report directly through to the Farm Manager providing all harvest requirements and quality assurance.
About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Manages all aspects of harvest, including Fruit evaluation, Harvest crew placement and supervision, Quality control and ensuring safe work procedures
  • Maintaining harvest equipment according to the standard procedures.
  • Coaching support for field harvest coordinators and supervisors to manage agreed daily KPIs to achieve the strongest outcomes for the business.
  • Ensure strict quality control standards for fruit harvesting, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining under your supervision.
  • Acknowledge and obey all company safety and food safety rules and regulations, always working in a safe and legal manner.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role as well as:
  • Takes responsibility for the safety of all harvest workers, monitoring the crews for safe and efficient work practices.
  • Closely monitor crop and crew performance by understanding budget, costs and KPIs
  • Ability to make decisions independently
  • Able to plan ahead
  • Horticulture qualifications desired
