The role

Covering for an existing staff member on extended leave, this contract position reports to the Head of Humanities and will focus primarily on generalist HASS subjects in Years 7 to 10. In addition, this role will also be the Tutor teacher for a vertical Tutor Group (Years 9-12) in Cowan House. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Primarily focussed on delivery of Generalist HASS curriculum to students in Years 7 to 10
  • Act as Tutor teacher for a vertical (Years 9-12) Tutor Group

About you

Available to commence at the College in Term 2 2024, you are an innovative, passionate and dedicated teacher, keen to contribute to our Humanities Department’s teaching program. You are cognisant of current curriculum and pedagogical developments and initiatives, and consistently strive to provide an engaging learning experience for your students – one that reflects pedagogical best practice. You also understand the need for educational institutions to adapt and respond to our changing world. Flexible and agile in your thinking, you model a growth mindset which will enable you to support the College in its unwavering pursuit of excellence – thus preparing and equipping our students for the exciting future that awaits them.

You can demonstrate:

  • experience in, and commitment to, effectively integrating technology into classroom delivery
  • a commitment to nurturing the individual student
  • a commitment to self-development and ongoing learning, and the desire to be part of a dynamic educational team
  • tertiary qualifications in a related discipline 
  • current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
  • National Police Clearance Certificate
  • the ability to uphold and support the College's Anglican ethos and maintain a current Working with Children Clearance during your employment with the College.
