We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Hazardous Waste Processing Operator to join our team in Western Australia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment and processes involved in the treatment, handling, and disposal of Hazardous Waste materials. This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Hazardous Waste Processing equipment including but not limited to: Pumps, Rotating Forklift, drum and IBC preparation.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates effectively and safely.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and company policies to minimize risks associated with Hazardous Waste Processing.
  • Monitor process parameters, equipment performance, and environmental conditions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Safely handle, transfer, and store hazardous materials following established procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct sampling and analysis of waste streams to determine characteristics and suitability for processing.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff and regulatory agencies to ensure proper documentation and reporting of waste management activities.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures and spill containment efforts as needed.
  • Train and mentor junior operators on safe operating procedures and best practices for Hazardous Waste management.
  • Maintain accurate records of waste inventories, processing activities, and equipment maintenance logs.

Qualifications:

  • High school Science qualification or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in Hazardous Waste management or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role within the Hazardous Waste management industry, preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair processing equipment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing Hazardous Waste handling, transportation, and disposal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Valid C Class driver's license and forklift certification required.
