We are currently seeking applications from experienced and highly effective professionals with a record of best practice, strategic vision, and a sound knowledge of leadership and teaching to join us as Head of Diverse Learning. This is a permanent full-time role, commencing Term 3, 2024.

The ideal candidate will play an integral role in providing exceptional learning support for students and work closely with staff to develop learning programs across the School.

The Role

  • Lead, develop and implement policies, procedures and interventions supporting teaching and learning of students with diverse needs.
  • Establish positive relationships through team building and foster a positive learning environment amongst staff members.
  • Engage with current educational theory and research in the field of Diverse Learning and inclusive education.
  • Ability to support classroom teachers in their professional development through modelling best practice and encouraging collaboration.
  • Create a motivating and engaging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students through varied teaching strategies and pedagogical practices.
  • Participate in the Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model, which may mean being part of an Integrated Learning Team.
  • Show a commitment to academic pastoral care and supporting student well-being.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Possess strong leadership, mentoring, team building and influencing skills.
  • Have a positive outlook, exceptional people skills and high emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative, and productive relationships.
  • Display commitment, professionalism, integrity, knowledge, and expertise.
  • Hold relevant education qualifications including a current NESA accreditation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the syllabus requirements and ability to meet the aims, objectives, and outcomes of the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the values of a Catholic school in the tradition of Mary Ward, supporting and contributing to the development of the School’s values and culture.
