Design & Build are currently working with a leading, national contractor to identify a Head of Estimating & Cost Planning. You will be joining the team to manage all aspects of tender price estimating and cost planning in the Defence & Social Infrastructure Division.

- Responsible for all aspects of tender price estimating and cost planning including life cycle modelling for the Defence and Social Infrastructure Division.
- The role will take the lead on major projects and will also oversee smaller projects and allocated estimating teams.
- The primary objective of the role is to respond to contract growth opportunities and current client requests with accurate Budgetary and Tender pricing
- Clearly articulating all key risks and opportunities, assumptions and clarifications which inform our pricing solution.
- Establish processes and libraries to perform analysis of project bid requirements, plans and specifications to identify labour, material, equipment and service requirements.
- Implement strategies to optimise profit margins across projects, including value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.
- Actively contributing to business development, solutioning and pricing strategy formulation.
- Winning profitable and stable projects to support business operations and growth
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Facilities Management or a related field.
- 10+ years’ demonstrated leadership experience of working in major AM/ FM portfolio projects environments managing and delivering the estimating and cost planning and analysis function.
- 10+ years’ experience in the Defence and/or Social Infrastructure AM/ FM industry with Tier 1 service provider
- 10+ years’ experience in AM/ FM Operations and Maintenance and lifecycle contract management (ideally including senior experience in Social Infrastructure DCFM/PPP projects)
- Senior experience in subcontractor and supplier negotiations of pricing and commercial contract agreements
