How will I help?
As the Head of Human Resources - Business Lending and Chief Operating Office, Business and Wealth, you will build strong relationships to partner with business heads to build and shape the business aligned people strategy. Reporting to the General Manager, HR Consumer and Business & Wealth, you will be focussed on developing talent and workforce design to meet the business needs now, and in the future, and lead fundamental shifts in culture and employee engagement. Your primary stakeholders will be the Managing Director, Business Lending and COO, Business & Wealth, and their direct reports.
Westpac's Business Lending aims to deliver a superior end-to-end lending experience for our business customers. The Chief Operating Office, Business and Wealth, serves as the provider of common capabilities across the Business & Wealth Division, focused on improved customer outcomes, simplifying complexity and uplifting our risk culture. This key role will oversee all aspects of the people agenda covering strategy, workforce planning, talent, capability, and HR transformation all while bringing a balanced focus on continuous development and risk and controls.
In the role of Head of HR - Business Lending and Chief Operating Office, you will take carriage of developing and executing the people strategy to support the overall strategy for Business Lending and COO in line with Group strategy. You will develop a clear view of the workforce required and the capability required to deliver. You'll advocate for the cultural and behavioural change required in the business and align with broader HR transformation strategies. In this role you will drive the overall talent agenda for business success, delivering strategic talent solutions to grow leaders in meeting succession needs. A strong influencer, you will lead the change and transformation agenda within Business Lending and COO to embed Agile work practices. You will partner with the HR Business Partnering team to deliver both strategic and tactical HR initiatives. You will demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, simplifying processes and making it easy for our people.

What do I need?
You hold 15 years HR Business Partnering experience with a significant portion spent in team or divisional HR leadership within an Agile/CoE structure. With significant experience in strategic partnering with executive business and functional leaders at the most senior levels of an organization (GM/MD/CSuite/Group Executive levels) you have a strong commercial mind and a well-developed strategic lens. You have the ability to work and thrive within an Agile/CoE-led HR and business structure, including strong product-driven environments. An exceptional communicator and a strong relationship builder, you are comfortable to influence and debate with colleagues, peers and senior stakeholders. Ideally you will have experience in and a passion for financial services and thrive in a dynamic environment with a strong transformation agenda.
