This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to lead our medical imaging team as Head of Imaging at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH).

This is a sessional appointment at 10 sessions (0.5 FTE) per fortnight for up to 5 years, with possibility of extension(s).

In collaboration with the Chief Medical Imaging Technologist, this role provides clinical leadership to ensure personalised, safe, effective and timely patient care for patients.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure efficient use of human and physical resources so that the specialty operates within the allocated financial, bed and clinic resources
  • Lead initiatives to improve the quality of patient care in line with hospital wide priorities and to minimise adverse events and mitigate clinical risks
  • Motivate and mentor all levels of the clinical team especially medical staff and ensures junior medical staffs are appropriately supervised at all times
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination of patient care and promotes education and research
  • Be accountable to the Service Co-Directors for the specialty meeting the hospital’s strategic initiatives and Key Performance Indicators as outlined in the agreed annual FSH operational plan
  • Coordinate the allocation of consultant and registrar staff across FSH, Fremantle Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital; and manages the single radiology pool across these hospitals.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
