This is an exciting time to join our team as we embark on the delivery of our new Global Strategy.The International Relations and Partnerships Team provides expert leadership and frameworks of co-ordination and support for academic and professional service units and other teams within the International Office, in a range of areas, including:a. management and co-ordination of a portfolio of partners and relationships, including partnerships with institutions and a range of other stakeholders such as alumni and our global public
b. information management and data analysis
c. creation of robust, streamlined policy and procedures to facilitate international partnership development

- Provide a high level of support and specialist expertise to the Director of International Affairs for the development and delivery of Newcastle University internationalisation strategies
- Play a leading role in the development and delivery of International strategies and plans, including the setting and delivery of targets, coordination of activity across NU, and optimisation of financial and staff resources. Key activity areas will include:
- International partnerships and stakeholder relations
- Development of profile, brand and reputation
- Supporting international student recruitment and a range of other business objectives across the University
- Lead development and delivery of strategy and delivery for partner engagement and relationship management
- Lead on the acquisition and delivery of intelligence, information and data that is effective, appropriate and applied to strategic priorities and objectives, and the current context
- Provide a high level of leadership, team management and staff development to maximise the effectiveness of the International Relations & Partnerships Team, and the International Office in general
- Lead the development and management of university-wide operations and systems to optimise International Relations, partner engagement and reputational development
- Develop and manage frameworks and systems for the provision of a high level of knowledge and expertise relating to International Relations and partnerships and the internationalisation of Higher Education in general
- Build and maintain excellent relations with key internal stakeholders, including Faculties and Schools, professional service units, and manage a range of high level external relationships
- Manage and monitor the International Relations and partnerships budgets with a focus on impact and return on investment
- Represent Newcastle University on visits and events on campus and overseas in support of University objectives
- A high level of ability to develop, manage and motivate a team, including budgeting, setting targets and KPIs, monitoring work flows and supervising staff that may be located both in Newcastle and overseas
- Evidence of high level strategic thinking, experience of strategic planning, and the ability to reconcile strategic, academic and commercial objectives
- A focus on results backed up by a track record of delivery at scale in International Office management or transferable experience related to sales and/or marketing
- A high level of initiative and excellent organisational skills, and the ability to set priorities, manage change, and make sound judgments
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited direction, adapt and work flexibly in a dynamic environment, and the willingness to travel when required
- A proven ability to balance a broad range of priorities and relationships to deliver in a complex environment

- A business or marketing (or other cognate) qualification of the appropriate level or focus
