Job description

We are looking for a Head of Partnerships and International Operations to deliver commercial value to Tourism Tasmania and the state’s tourism industry by leading the establishment, management, and leverage of commercially focussed Partnerships and the connection of tourism industry operators to relevant domestic and International markets. 

As the leader of the Partnerships team and a senior member of the marketing team, you will also lead cross-team collaboration to successfully deliver our strategic international marketing program, driving visitation and yield for Tasmania from key international markets.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and activation of the domestic and International distribution partnership strategy, including airline marketing partnerships, to deliver commercial value for industry and ROI for Tourism Tasmania.
  • Identifying and nurturing domestic and International trade and partnership opportunities that contribute to delivering on Tourism Tasmania’s strategic objectives.
  • Creating opportunities for Tasmania’s tourism industry to be connected to relevant key markets via distribution channels to deliver value to their business.
  • Building and facilitating strong collaboration across the agency to implement its international marketing strategy efficiently and effectively.
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Leading, coaching and empowering the Partnerships team to enable their growth while building and maintaining productivity, capability, and team culture.

What you'll work on:

  • Lead and oversee the Partnerships team in the management of commercial partnerships, which includes negotiations, procurement, relationship management, budget and timeline management, and the delivery and regular reporting of results.
  • Strategic management and ongoing development of B2B training, events, partner engagement, and service delivery programs.
  • Collaborate across government, industry stakeholders and representative bodies – Department of State Growth (DSG), Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania (TICT), Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs), Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), Austrade, Tourism Australia (TA) on global ‘trade ready’ focused international market activity and engagement.
  • Provide oversight, relationship management and contract management of relevant in-market representative partners.
  • Represent Tourism Tasmania within relevant Tourism Australia activity and forums, and other events and forums as required.
  • Overseeing the effective and efficient delivery of the partnership team’s work program including looking for opportunities to maximise ROI, improve processes, build product knowledge, and provide consistent and insightful reporting.
