Your new company

SRT Logistics is a family-owned business, operating and continuously growing across Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Brisbane for over 25 years. They provide refrigerated transport and dry grocery logistics servicing a broad customer base which includes iconic brands and premier producers as well as smaller, boutique producers.

Your new role

The Head of People & Culture reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is supported by a Human Resources Assistant. The role also works alongside and within a team of leaders including Quality & Compliance, Information Technology, Business Process and Finance.

The role will be responsible for ensuring SRT operates with contemporary people, culture and industrial relations best practices. The position will help develop and deliver a people strategy that is aligned with the companies’ values, ensures compliance surrounding WHS regulations and encourages a safe working environment for all employees.

What you'll need to succeed

You will possess proven work experience within Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and Workplace Health & Safety. You will also have the ability to develop and implement the following:

As a key collaborator with the management team, you will be tasked with reviewing, designing, and implementing policies, processes, and systems that pertain to People and Culture. You will oversee the entire employee life cycle within the business, ensuring that policies and practices are consistently applied. This includes areas such as performance management, rewards and benefits, and industrial relations.

You are responsible for building the internal capacity of SRT’s managers to ensure safe and effective workplace People and Culture practices. You will provide guidance and support for managers at all levels relating to performance management, conduct awareness training, and support internal promotion within the business. You will stay abreast of all emerging issues related to People and Culture and provide timely support to the business.

Essential requirements

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and Workplace Health & Safety or equivalent, this is an essential requirement of the position. You will undertake this leadership role with an engaged and hands-on style, have strong communication and interpersonal skills while endeavouring to understand the business, its people and its values.
