About the role

Reporting to the Director Advancement, Infectious Diseases, the Head of Philanthropy, CGCPT is a senior role within the University’s advancement team, working closely within The Centre and The Doherty Institute. The appointee will play an important leadership role in driving the CGCPT philanthropic campaign, including development of the CGCPT strategic plan, and working in partnership with professional and academic colleagues in the Centre, the Doherty and University Advancement. As a key provider of fundraising expertise, guidance and strategic insight, the appointee will foster close collaboration with key stakeholders, and cultivate, solicit and steward the CGCPT’s most significant donors and prospects, including principal gifts of $5M+ with a consistent focus in $1M+ gifts. The role may recruit, manage and coach a small team to support the philanthropic strategy, and work alongside other colleagues in Infectious Disease fundraising.

About you

You are a proven principal and major gift fundraiser with experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns, and leading integrated advancement programs within the higher education, health, medical research, charity and other relevant philanthropic sectors. Your track record in major gift fundraising at the $1M+ level is underpinned by your ability to provide high level and effective leadership to stakeholders, knowledge of major international and national trends, outstanding diplomacy and interpersonal skills, and high level influencing, negotiating and motivational capability. Your passion for health advancement will see you thrive and succeed in this best practice, cutting edge and dynamic globally renowned advancement team.
