About WAPHA:

WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) oversees the strategic commissioning functions of the three federally funded Primary Health Networks (PHNs) in Western Australia. 

By stewarding innovation and reform in health care delivery in WA communities, WAPHA’s objective is to improve health outcomes and patient experience by commissioning appropriate services where they are most needed.

WAPHA has 240+ employees and commissions the delivery of over $260 million in primary health care services annually across Western Australia.

About This Role:

The Head of Primary Care Enablement reports to the Executive General Manager, Primary Care Innovation & Development and is a member of WAPHA’s senior leadership team.

Leading three management level direct reports and overseeing a decentralised functional team of 30+, this role leads WAPHA’s operational planning, coordination and implementation of its programs that provide expert support, coaching and facilitation to general practice in Western Australia. 

To deliver on WAPHA’s vision of ‘Better Health, together’, you will champion a culture of excellence and innovation across your practice enablement teams.

About You:

This senior leadership position is pivotal role that requires a proactive leader who is outcomes focused and has an extensive track record of building and leading high performing teams, driving innovation, continuous improvement and fostering a culture of collaboration. 

Strong alignment with WAPHA values of courage, humility, respect, wisdom and integrity will also be apparent in all aspects of your work. 

Your background will encompass significant hands-on experience in business improvement and coaching in the health sector. This will include successfully using digital technology to improve the engagement and efficiency of service and support provision to stakeholders.

You will understand the Commonwealth’s policy direction for PRIMARY CARE and be abreast of current and changing initiatives in this area. You will also have a track record of building respected and collaborative relationships.

A demonstrated ability to operationalise strategy and manage competing deadlines, including multiple programs and projects, is a key requirement of this role.
