Head of Retail Credit Services (Division Director / Executive Director)

This is a unique opportunity to join our fast-growing business in our Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Group as the Head of our Retail Credit Services. This role is key in the development and transformation of our credit operational priorities across our Personal Banking (PB) home loan, car loan and credit card portfolios.  It will suit an Executive Director (ED) / Division Director (DD) looking for an exciting next step in their career.

Reporting to the BFS Head of Credit, you will fulfill an important leadership role across the end-to-end credit operational functions, driving the successful functioning of the retail credit services team and operating rhythm. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across BFS to ensure clear, efficient, and effective operational performance, with driving increased productivity and scalability of our operations, and ensuring provision of high credit capabilities and managing risk. You will also work closely with the Credit leadership team to align delivery of key initiatives, embedding culture and agile practices.

In addition to the above you will be responsible for leading the following key functions:

• End to end credit operational functions from application, credit assessment and approval, settlement, operations, collections and financial assistance for our homeloan, car loan and credit card portfolios.
• Part of the Credit leadership team and Personal Banking leadership team

What you’ll bring to the role:

• An excellent understanding and proven experience of managing large operations teams and driving transformation programs.
• Strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate with your own team as well as varied stakeholders across the ecosystem.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving, being data driven and with a curious mindset and an ability to prioritise
• You are a strong influencerand are an excellent communicator to align your team around a purpose
• Ability to coach, build capability and skills across all levels of the team

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience working in the Australian retail banking environment and bring significant strategic and/or operational knowledge and capability. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to support senior stakeholders. You’ll be excited by change and have the entrepreneurial drive to identify and realise opportunities and execute on initiatives.
