About the role

Reporting to the Director of Content; the Head of Shopping is responsible for leveraging data and insights to create, implement, optimise and report on the shopping content strategy in order to achieve Are Medias Content Commerce budget. Working with the Shopping team, and the Vertical Content Digital teams to ensure content is created in order to achieve Content Commerce Budget.

You will be responsible for using data to identify revenue driving content opportunities across digital platforms (site, social, email) as well as delegating, assigning, optimizing and amplifying highest earning content across Are Media’s broad portfolio of digital products, as needed.

This is a senior role within the business and leadership is a key focus. Leading-a team of approximately 10, with 2 direct reports you will need to support when required and as such will need to be a responsive, passionate, energetic manager, while actively mentoring and supporting their professional growth and will provide constructive feedback as needed.

Duties

  • Create, Implement and optmise the Shopping Content Strategy across Are Media.
  • Direct and collaborate with digital content teams to ensure that unique and exclusive on-brand shopping content of a high quality is created and published to grow Content Commerce Revenue.
  • As a SME (subject matter expert) team member, to share best practice in the area of affiliate content, offering guidance and general support to others.
  • Work and collaborate with content teams (all channels) to deliver shopping strategy per brand. Ensure strategy is being implemented and provide feedback accordingly.
  • Work with General Managers to provide assistance with data and reporting from affiliate platforms to inform content ideas.
  • Leverage Shopping Dashboard to educate the business on performance and to drive performance within the Shopping and Digital Vertical teams.
  • Use data and tools to create insights and understandings that inform strategies for audience and revenue growth from affiliate content.

Skills and experience

The Head of Shopping needs to live and breathe shopping content and is the lead role within Are Media for Shopping Content. Leveraging our valuable audience to achieve Are Media’s Content Commerce targets.

  • Shopping Content Strategy experience; ideation, implementation and reviewing
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with previous management experience
  • Financial and commercial acumen; knowledge of affiliate revenue drivers for websites, social platforms and digital sales processes
  • Understanding and experience with using a variety of social media platforms and referrers to drive audiences and engagement with shoppable content.
  • Experience in and passion for Content Commerce
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving digital environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEO and the ever changing environment
  • Interest and/or understanding of Shopping trends and using review content
  • Be able to apply strong editorial judgement, making decisions on content that drives required results
