Head of Strategy and Architecture
Start Date: 1 July 2024
Length: 12 months + 2 x 12-month potential extensions
Location of work: SA, VIC
Role Responsibilities:
# Taking a collaborative approach to engagement with key stakeholders across multiple different business units, including cyber security, engagement, delivery and build teams, research groups and wider organisation
# Leading and growing a diverse group of technical and security architects (currently 25 people)
# Overseeing technical design & working with stakeholders to drive key projects
# Developing roadmaps, strategies, and capability statements
# Developing quotes and estimates at multi-year roadmap/strategy level, annual program level and for individual research projects
# Developing high level and low-level documentation that will then be executed.
# Educating & innovating in technology services delivery to develop the business
# Ensuring project artefacts are completed on-time and at exceptional standards
# Managing multiple strategies at one time.
# Enabling and introducing emerging technologies into the business
# Participating in the Leadership Team across the Strategy and build/run parts of the organisation
Key Experience:
# Be an experienced Head of Strategy & Architecture who has successfully led and managed teams of Enterprise, Solution and Security architects (including budget and people management); coordinated the development and costing of roadmaps and then collaborated to deliver.
# Have exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills that enable you to consult across all lines of the business, to bring people together to land on shared approaches and work with people of all levels of technical expertise up to innovative research level.
# Be able to analyse and problem solve a variety of novel tasks that have never been done before, however, must have an outcome within tight timeframes and budget plus use judgement to balance pragmatic solutions for urgent need with the strategic target state.
# Be experienced in producing strategy, program, and project cost estimates to support strategy, investment and work take on need.
# Approach design in a technology agnostic way.
# Expert knowledge across the full SDLC.
# Experience with Wintel, Linux, and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
# Experience with storage systems: VMWare, Net Apps, OnPrem Infrastructure and Private Cloud.
# Experience working with Networks such as Cisco and PaloAlto.
#Experience with VB.net, SQL, Java and C-Sharp.
