THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Health and Safety Advisors to join the team at Ora Banda.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

• Ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standards of safety and compliant to current Company policies and applicable legislation.
• Conduct Safety inspections on a regular basis and assist the Health and Safety representatives to discharge their responsibilities.
• Assist and attend toolbox meetings on site at locations as required.
• Assist and support various departments to develop and implement safe work procedures.
• Conduct Safe act Observations on a regular basis.
• Complete safety data input into the required safety systems
• Monitor safety inspections and action items to achieve deadlines.
• Actively promotes and demonstrates a commitment to safety.
• Support and assist the Safety Emergency Services Officers and Training Advisors as required.
• Any other duties that may be required on request from the HSET Manager
• Support the projects critical risk management process.
• Assist with the implementation of the site’s fitness for work monitoring program.
• Actively participate in improvement activities i.e., inspections/audits, toolbox meetings, training needs analysis.
• Provide recommendations for the improvement of Health and Safety related policies/procedures.
• Support the HSET manager in the achievement of department KPIs.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Mine Safety Management System and supporting processes and procedures.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of WHS related data.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure that a consistent approach and continuous improvement of the sites safety culture and performance is achieved.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and audits aimed and delivering excellent safety outcomes.
• Participate in investigations and follow up on the outcomes for all OHSE related matters.
• Monitor the OHS compliance register to ensure that items are actioned in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Conduct safety meetings, including the promotion of a strong safety culture and focused training outcomes.
• Conduct on site induction and associated training for all employees and contractors engaged at the Davyhurst Project
• Design and implement safety related training to be delivered to employees and contractors, including but not limited to Hazards identification, Job hazard analysis
• Ensure safety training records are maintained on the company system  

ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:  

• Certificate IV in Work Health Safety.
• Be conversant with and understand the obligation of Work Health Safety Act 2020 and accompanying regulations.
• Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Have worked in a similar role on an operating gold mine for a minimum of 2 years
• Have a WA Class "C" manual driver's licence?
• Ability to provide Advanced First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Excellent consultation skills.
• Ability to plan, organise & prioritise work tasks effectively.
• Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
