Welcome to the PKKP Aboriginal Corporation (PKKP AC) who administers the traditional lands and waters on the behalf of the Puutu, Kunti, Kurrama and Pinikura people. These lands and waters cover approximately 10,888 square kilometres of Western Australia’s Pilbara region between Onslow and Tom Price. The PKKP AC delivers a range of programs and services to support the social and economic well-being of PKKP Members.
The primary function of the PKKP AC’s Member Services Team based in Karratha WA, is to provide high quality assistance to its members in order to achieve the PKKP AC’s strategic vision of building self-determined and prosperous PKKP members. Our Member Services team focuses on meaningful engagement with the PKKP community through the following areas:
- Health and well-being
- Community programs
- Employment and training
- Charitable member benefits and program support
Through engagement the Member Services team builds a holistic understanding of the needs and aspirations of the PKKP community.

This role is instrumental to the ongoing success of the PKKP AC’s Health & Wellbeing program which is aimed at supporting member's health and wellbeing initiatives. The role focuses on supporting members to overcome barriers to achieving a balanced and healthy lifestyle. This role reports directly to the Programs Manager Member Services Unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide members assistance, guidance and the necessary support required to access health and wellbeing services, engaging and working with external service providers as necessary.
- Lead and support regular engagement and communication with membership, keeping them informed of Membership related Benefit Policies and Programs, MSU’s activities, community programs, and other such service offerings
- Lead, coordinate and collaborate to deliver on PKKP’s Community Outreach Program objectives
- Assist Members in understanding of all Charitable Trust guidelines and policies for the best use of Health and Wellbeing programs
- Engage and monitor members well-being, liaising with key agencies and service providers as needed to appropriately support any health, economic, social, and educational outcomes
- Assist members to identify and engage appropriate services available to them through local, government and other key agencies, supporting them to understand and complete documentation necessary to access applicable services
- Engage, liaise and maintain relationship with Trustee, Executive officer, local, government and other key agencies.
- Contribute to the coordination of meetings, events, venues, catering appointments, calendars, and meetings for the Unit and Community
- Maintain effective membership information management, filing and archiving processes and systems
- Maintain a high standard of regular Information, Communication and Outreach support to members
- Support, coach and help supervise Member Services Trainee workplace and training deliverables
- Assist formatting various documents using Microsoft Office Suites
- Drive continuous improvement of service activities and support being provided to membership
Key Personal Attributes:
- A Tertiary Qualification in a related discipline (desired), nursing, community health, social services or similar
- Prior experience in a similar role or experience in member services and a genuine passion for engaging and building relationships within the community
- Ability to build rapport quickly and demonstrate empathy and understanding of challenges relating to people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances
- Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
- Valid C Class Drivers Licence – flexibility and ability to travel within the region
- Strong Computer skills including an advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office package
