ABOUT THE JOB

The role of the Health Safety and Compliance Manager is to develop and implement polices, procedures and practices to meet legislative and regulatory compliance for Health, Safety and Australian Food Health Standards required to deliver the businesses retail sale to Coles in Australia.

This role will lead and ensure the businesses compliance and capability to meet the Australian workplace. The Health Safety and Compliance Manager will guide the Sundrop Farms leadership team on safe working practices and correct behaviours onsite where required. This role is responsible to monitor the currency of WHS compliance within the statutory regulations and ensure the workplace remains current via adopting changes in regulations/ legislations regarding safety, health, environment and fresh produce into our systems/ processes ensure an audit frequency is maintained on site safety systems and practices.

This role works along the Sundrop Farms Site Management team and supports parts of their roles with Safety and Quality advice. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role reports and leads the WHS for the company.

This role will maintain the Coles quality relationships across all supplying states, interact with external auditors regarding fresh produce and Primary Industry whilst maintaining the Sundrop Farms site to the required standards. A team of quality control members will report to this role, with their actions and work methods measuring the produce leaving the facility for sales to Coles.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the compliance of the business for all WHS legislative requirements.

• Lead the businesses safety culture and ensure the adequate resourcing and focus is brought to assist and drive the businesses proactive WHS culture.

• Ensure provision for Training and Compliance within Sundrop Farms Pty Ltd performance, legal and moral responsibilities and show adherence to company policies and procedures, amending and updating as required to meet the changing needs of the business.

• Establish and manage safety systems, documentation and protocols are in place.

• Drive safety outcomes by advising and influencing site-based supervisors and managers, employees and contractors on safe operating processes in the workplace, adopting the appropriate tools to ensure that we continually improve our performance, and we develop ownership at all levels.

• Ensure requirements and specifications are abided by the organisation as specified by the customer.

• Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the site has active Safety and quality management plans

• Ensure quality standards are met by all staff

• Ensure provision for Training and Compliance within Sundrop Farms Pty Ltd performance, legal and moral responsibilities

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following

• At a minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety essential

• HACCP and Fresh care certification Highly Regarded

• Internal and External Customer stake-holder management skills

• Cross-functional experience of Risk Assessment, Health and Safety, and Training and Development

• Project Management skills – e.g. Kepner Tregoe / Prince 2 / Six Sigma / PMBOK, or equivalent Highly Regarded
