This is a six (6) month fixed term, part-time 0.6 FTE position commencing Term 1, 2024 with possible extension twelve (12) months and/or permanency.
Warnbro Community High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer to join their team.
The key aspects of the role include being able to; provide school staff support on Work Health and Safety (WHS) related issues, investigations of workplace hazards, incidents and accidents and ensure that records are completed ensuring that the school is compliant with and adheres to relevant statutory obligations, standards and department policies and procedures. You will ideally be willing to participate in a number of school committees and provide advice on work health and safety issues. It will be seen as highly advantageous to gain a working relationship and work closely with the school's Leadership team to implement and manage effective WHS solution with procedures and processes.

Situated 50 km south of Perth CBD, and located in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy..
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Well developed project management skills with the ability to develop, implement and evaluate health and Wellbeing programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of WHS legislation, policy and practices.
- Relevant knowledge and expertise in First Aid and associated qualifications.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels and in emergency situations.
- Well developed computer application skills, including a working knowledge
of word processing and development and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets.
