SalaryFlinders Medical Center is currently seeking an experienced Chef. If you are highly motivated and have experience cooking in large volumes, then this is the job for you! The successful candidate will be employed on a casual basis over a seven day roster.
What we are looking for:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
- Availability for “Seven Day Roster”
- Hospitality experience in a Health Care environment (desirable)
- Experience delivering on planned menus with the ability to prepare meals based on dietary requirements
- Excellent time management skills and must be able to work in fast paced environment due to the large catering assignments
- Ability to work within a small team and skilled at communicating with stakeholders at all levels as this is a client facing role
- Immunization History & COVID 19 + Booster Vaccination Certificate outlining Full vaccination is required. As a service provider, ISS must comply with all public health directives and client requirements.

Reporting to onsite Head Chef, you will assist in all food preparation whilst working alongside Food Service Assistants and other stakeholders. Being a chef, you will be required to prepare nutritional meals, by strictly adhering to the dietary requirements of each patient. Providing quality meals to our patients is our number one priority. Since you will be working in a small team, you need to have great communication skills as you will be taking and giving orders where necessary.
You will be required to deliver food safely as our food safety is non-negotiable and you must have a commitment to meeting all food safety obligations. In addition you must be committed to ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
