The Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Combination (HC) Truck Driver to join our Asphalt Paving team. This will be a full-time role, Monday to Friday with base location of Kilsyth. Job locations and plants are in and around Melbourne, predominantly in the South East suburbs.
Key accountabilities:
- Operate and drive Asphalt Flocons to collect and transport materials to from Asphalt plant to job sites
- Communicate with plant staff on arrival to collect materials
- Unload materials in a safe manner at job sites in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure adequate breaks are taken throughout the day to manage fatigue
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials
- Conduct adequate pre-starts prior to operating any equipment/machinery/plant and ensure all items are captured;
- Safe operating of vehicle at all times and do not operate unsafe vehicles
- Conduct department, tool and plant inspections as required by the business/manager in line with your role
Core competencies & requirements:
- Valid HC truck license
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Heavy CombinationTruck Driver
- Ability to undertake/pass a pre-employment medical
- Ability to provide a VicRoads driver history report
- Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility on working hours, weekends may be required on occasion
- First Aid qualifications is highly regarded
