About the Role
A fantastic opportunity exists for a Heavy Diesel Engine Mechanic / Technician with Cummins/Cat engine repair & overhaul experience to join the team at Westralian Diesel.
METRO Position available
Within this role you will be responsible for :
- Diesel engine overhauls (Cummins Engines).
- Estimating material quantities and machine requirements.
- Reporting to leading hand and liaising with parts manager and the team in the workshop.
- Inspecting, performing and directing routine tests and scheduled maintenance services to heavy mining equipment, power generation Diesel Engines and other equipment.
- Generator refurbishment/repairs & maintenance.
- Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls as required.
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults to power generation Diesel Engines, parts and on-highway trucks.
- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.

About You
As our newest team member, you will be an experienced Diesel Mechanic or Technician that has:
- Relevant trade certificate (Must have).
- 3 to 5 years Engine repair / overhaul experience (Must have).
- C Class drivers license - Manual (Must have).
- Must be able to pass drug screening & medical.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Must be able to travel to and from work.
About us
Westralian Diesel specialises in maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of Diesel Engines in the power generation, mining, and automotive industries.
We are a rapidly growing business and have recently moved into a brand new purpose-built workshop.
Full time hours of work are 38 hours minimum per week, Monday to Friday. There may be occasional weekend or overtime work.
