Finmec is an expanding maintenance provider to the mining and transport industry and has been operating in Hedland for the last 14 years. We are a Port Hedland Locally owned business made up of qualified Heavy Duty Mechanics, Light Vehicle Mechanics, Auto Electrician, HV Electricians, Boilermakers and more.
We require experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our Port Hedland Site Support team.
Position
- 1 x Heavy Diesel Mechanic – 2&1 Roster – Client Based.
- 1 x Heavy Diesel Mechanic - 8&6 Roster - Client Based.
- 1 x Heavy Diesel Mechanic - 7&7 Roster – Client Based - Estimated 6 month contract.

Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a variety of equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Complete all tasks in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics as needed.
Critical Competencies / Skills Required:
- Trade Qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or equivalent upskill.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.
- Firm understanding of safety in the industry.
- Proactive and highly motivated.
- Ability to pass a mine site induction at any time or appropriate for work requirement i.e., drug and alcohol free and fit for work in all ways.
