Position: Heavy Road Transport Auto Electrician

Reports To: Workshop Foreman
Salary Range: $45 - $50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7:15 am - 4:30 pm
Overview:
Founder is seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Road Transport Auto Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a variety of Heavy Road Transport vehicles, including trucks, trailers, buses, ensuring they operate at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Repairs:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify electrical issues.
Replace faulty electrical components and wiring.
- Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and components.
Inspect and test electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
-Installation:
Install new electrical systems and components in vehicles.
Ensure proper installation and functioning of aftermarket accessories.
- Communication:
Communicate effectively with the Service Department to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all work performed and any repairs carried out, including parts used and time spent.
- Compliance:
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
Stay updated with the latest automotive electrical systems and technologies.
Education and Certification:
Certification as an Auto Electrician or in automotive electrical systems.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Auto Electrician.
Experience with a wide range of Heavy Road Transport vehicles, makes and models.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
Good communication and customer service skills.
