POSITION OVERVIEW
As an apprentice you will be using equipment and tools to service cars, trucks, mowers, sweepers and garbage trucks.
Duties
- Inspect defective equipment and diagnose malfunctions using the appropriate test instruments
- Disassemble and overhaul various components
- Recondition and replace parts
- Repair and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment
- Provide off-site assistance for vehicles experiencing roadside breakdowns
- Read job orders and observe operating equipment to determine faults
- Undertake preventative maintenance
- Comply with pre-determined maintenance schedules
- Maintain a clean and tidy work space at all times
- Adhere to safe working practices
The suitable candidate:
- Passion for automotive
- Motivated to learn and complete TAFE studies over the four years
- Drivers license required
- Willing to work the occasional Saturday - Penalty rates apply
- Certificate II in Automotive or Medium rigid license is a bonus, but not essential!
- Willing to undergo Police Check, at the expense of NGJ
- Double vaccinated against COVID19
