POSITION OVERVIEW

As an apprentice you will be using equipment and tools to service cars, trucks, mowers, sweepers and garbage trucks.

Duties

• Inspect defective equipment and diagnose malfunctions using the appropriate test instruments
• Disassemble and overhaul various components
• Recondition and replace parts
• Repair and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment 
• Provide off-site assistance for vehicles experiencing roadside breakdowns
• Read job orders and observe operating equipment to determine faults
• Undertake preventative maintenance
• Comply with pre-determined maintenance schedules
• Maintain a clean and tidy work space at all times
• Adhere to safe working practices

The suitable candidate:

• Passion for automotive
• Motivated to learn and complete TAFE studies over the four years
• Drivers license required
• Willing to work the occasional Saturday - Penalty rates apply
• Certificate II in Automotive or Medium rigid license is a bonus, but not essential!
• Willing to undergo Police Check, at the expense of NGJ 
• Double vaccinated against COVID19
