About the role

TAFE Gippsland is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic industry expert with high-risk experience and competence to train and assess industry clients, and those looking to enter the industry. Located in Idyllic Gippsland, approximately 1 hour from Pakenham, the role of the High Risk WorkSafe Trainer and Assessor

will:

  • share specialist knowledge and experience;
  • deliver practical skills training in simulated workplace environments;
  • manage the learning process to enable students to achieve their best;
  • develop and deliver relevant and industry current course material;
  • keep your own teaching and vocational competence up to date and industry current;
  • maintain your licensing requirements.

If you don’t currently have the minimum required teaching qualification, but you have extensive industry experience and the relevant licences, TAFE Gippsland will consider your application. If you are the successful applicant TAFE Gippsland will sponsor you to complete the Certificate IV Training & Assessment.

This role is regionally based within the idyllic Gippsland region. If you are the successful applicant and you are currently residing in the metro area or in another state, TAFE Gippsland can provide you with a relocation allowance to cover your expenses.

Qualifications and experience

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40122 or equivalent (if not held on commencement, qualification must be completed within agreed timeframe. Sponsorship will be provided for all associated costs);
  • Vocational competence and industry experience in High Risk work;
  • Knowledge of and experience in the delivery of industry specific skills is desirable;
  • First Aid Certificate (Level 2) is desirable
  • Ideally hold any of the following High Risk Work Licences with two years of vocational currency:
    • LF-Licence to operate a forklift truck
    • WP-Licence to operate a boom type elevated work platform >11 metres
    • DG-Licence to perform dogging
    • RB-Licence to perform rigging-Basic level
    • RI-Licence to perform rigging-Intermediate level
    • SB-Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding-Basic level
    • SI- Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding-Intermediate level
    • SA­ Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding-Advanced level
    • C2-Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonne)
    • RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights
    • RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces

Mandatory requirements

  • Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
  • Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
  • A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Current Driver’s License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
