Form of workABOUT THE ROLE: PHE High Voltage is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated High Voltage Technician to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
We encourage candidates from Brisbane, Gympie, Bathurst, Tumut, or Adelaide or those willing to relocate to apply. As a High Voltage Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of High Voltage electrical systems.
Your expertise will help ensure the safety and reliability of our clients' operations. Your roster will be Monday to Friday with FIFO site and project work as required. Install, inspect, and maintain High Voltage electrical equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in High Voltage systems and components. Perform regular preventive maintenance to prevent system failures. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement High Voltage system upgrades and modifications.
Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards for High Voltage work. Document all work performed, including maintenance reports and equipment logs. Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in High Voltage systems. ABOUT YOU: To be successful you will have the following skills and experience: Current Electrical licence or degree in electrical engineering. Current CPR/LVR Proven experience in working with High Voltage electrical systems.
Experience or passion in High voltage electrical testing, skills to include but not limited to – HV cable fault locating and testing including VLF and tan delta. Partial discharge testing.
Transformer testing. Switch gear maintenance and testing. Thermography surveys.
Protection relay testing. Earth testing. Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to High Voltage work.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical fitness and the ability to work in various environmental conditions. Willingness to travel to job sites and work away from home as required by the company. ABOUT US: PHE has 50 years’ history providing safe, rewarding, long-term employment in regional areas.
