About You
The Olivet Care Home Care Packages Program operates predominately in the Eastern Suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne, and we are seeking people who are passionate about working in Aged Care, with experience in providing care and support for older people living in their own homes.
You will be enthusiastic about supporting people in our program to live safely, and independently and have the ability to promote trust, choice, and flexibility that will help people to live their best life in their own homes.
Duties of the role
- Domestic Care (no formal qualification required)
- Assist with tasks such as general cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing bed linen.
- Provide shopping assistance on behalf of the client, assistance with bill paying.
- Personal Care (formal qualification required)
- Provide personal care including assistance/supervision with showering, dressing, continence support.
- Provide respite care and support for social activities and recreational needs that help promote social connectedness and community engagement.
- Provide shopping assistance on behalf or with the client, assist with bill paying and transport assistance to medical appointment or other appointments.
What you will need to succeed
- Personal Care - Minimum of Certificate 3 in Aged Care/ Individual support or Home & Community Care pr Cert IV Disability, Bachelor of Nursing or Completed first- year study towards it for PCA
- Domestic Care - No qualification required.
- Current level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Ability to use Microsoft and other Olivet Care software products as required
- A mobile Phone (Android or Apple)
- A current driver’s license and access to a registered and insured vehicle
- Good verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills (for rosters, eLearning, progress notes, etc.)
- Enthusiasm and great interpersonal skills
- Alignment with the organization’s values.
- Current National Police Certificate clearance/NDIS Screening Check
- COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations evidence
- Have full Australian working right
