Form of workEthereal Equestrian is Brisbane's premier horse riding school and only specialist Showjumping school. Due to our current and amazing full time instructor's decision to return home to the UK in May for personal reasons, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated new member to join our small operational team.
This is a permanent position. 35-40 hours per week, dependant on skills and candidate. Part time will be considered if more than one suitable applicant. Working hours are generally, but not limited to:
Monday PM - Saturday PM, Sunday off & Monday AM off. Either Tuesday or Thursday off on a weekly basis. A 3 day weekend can be rostered once per month by negotiation. The role involves riding and training work, coaching and general stable & horse care duties.
Ideally the successful candidate will be an experienced Showjumper with some coaching experience. Training/riding experience is a must for re-training Off The Track Thoroughbreds for rehoming.
Excellent facilities including 62 x 22m undercover sand arena, outdoor grass show jumping area, cross country area and 17 meter oversized round yard for beginners and training.
You will need to be flexible in your work hours due to lesson times and available over the weekends for active competition in Showjumping.
Assistance will be provided to the right candidate for training toward Equestrian Australia (EA) Coaching qualification.
Opportunity to compete with Ethereal Equestrian and potential to agist your own horse on the premises after trial period.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
. Minimum 2 years hands on experience in horsemanship and horse training.
. Providing horse riding instruction to students of all ages and abilities in
either private or group situations.
. Preparing horses for lessons (securing horse from paddock/stable,
grooming and tack-up.
. Securing clients on and off mounts in a safe and timely manner.
. Providing daily care to horses and ponies, feeding, watering, washing etc.
. Customer service, greeting clients, executing documentation etc.
. General cleaning duties, horse related.
. Participate in pony parties, camp days, other events and clinics.
. Availability to attend competition days either EA or Pony Club.
. Must be available to work minimum 3 Saturday's per month on rotation.
This is a unique opportunity for a committed horse person. Subject to a trial period, a full-time position is offered with permanent salaried remuneration. We are looking for a long-term commitment.
