Horticultural Farm Manager

Ampersand Estates Pty Ltd is located 38km north of Pemberton in Peerabeelup, Western Australia, is seeking a Full-Time, experienced and suitably qualified horticultural farm manager responsible for day-to-day operation on the farm and reporting to the Directors of Ampersand Estate.

The farm consists of 17 ha of established vineyards, 1 ha of mixed fruit orchards (expansion to 2 ha), 7 ha of land planned for immediate conversion into avocado and finger lime crops. In addition to the crops, there is a substantial agri-tourism operation including guest houses, cellar door, wedding/entertainment venue and picnic experiences that includes the supply of local produce, picnic hampers, food and estate wine.

Task as follows:

• Managing and undertaking the day-to-day operations involved in growing crops including:
• Soil cultivation
• Land clearance for crop and infrastructure expansion
• Application of fertiliser and chemicals
• Management of outsourced horticultural operations and contracts
• General maintenance of grounds and public facilities
• Maintaining farm records
• Agritourism management including:
• Day-to-day management of agritourism staff (cellar door, cleaners etc.)
• Venue and facilities maintenance

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 7 years’ experience in mixed cropping, including the operation of equipment
• Proven proficiency in English communication skills
• The ability to manage a blended farming and agritourism business including direction of farm and guest house/venue staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
