ABOUT THE ROLE:
Bass Coast Shire Council is instrumental in preserving and enhancing our region through our dedicated Infrastructure Maintenance Horticulture team. This role offers you the opportunity to leverage your horticultural expertise and actively contribute to our mission.
As a Horticulture Team Member, you will carry out landscaping and horticulture maintenance related tasks, including:
- Maintaining Council’s parks, gardens and open spaces. Works may include but not limited to tree planting, mulching, weeding, spraying, mowing, pruning and cleaning.
- Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with safety standards;
- Providing quality services in parks consistent with Council and Department standards, practices and agreements; and
- Maintaining Council facilities and open space in accordance with best practice.
This position is a permanent full-time position and will be primarily based out of the Cowes Depot but may be required to work from various locations across the municipality. The standard full-time hours for this role are 7:00am - 4:00pm which includes one day off per fortnight.
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
To thrive in this role, you will need significant experience and technical expertise in horticulture, relevant licenses and certifications, the ability to work well within a team, and strong communication skills for interacting with the public.
