About the role
Morpeth Farms requires a Horticulture Section Supervisor to ensure the Tree Development from 0 to 36 months is carried out as per established procedures to ensure trees enter adult age productive and healthy.
This position is full-time, and may be required to work shifts, including weekends.
This position reports to the Orchard Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Control all trees from 0-36 months
Tree Design, shape and volume as per standard procedures.
Nutrient treatments are completed as per standard procedures. Pre-plant, fertiliser application, broadcasting of fertiliser and air blast spraying of chemicals
Irrigation control as per each block requirements
Equipment is maintained in working order and cleaned as per hygiene requirements
Oversee operations of summer pruning, to ensure the standard of work is as directed by the Orchard Manager

Report any incidents (Workplace Health & Safety) to the WPHS Officer in a timely and accurate fashion.
Report horticultural issues and other farming observations to the Orchard Manager.
Uphold company regulations and enforce these as required. Utilise the HR consultant to assist as needed, addressing disciplinary issues in a timely manner.
Understand the importance of allocating your time to the block costs and teaching new members of staff to use the system to get the best level of accuracy possible.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (key competencies, must haves):
A proven record of skills and knowledge in agriculture/horticulture;
Have considerable experience, fundamental knowledge and skills in farm operation;
Trustworthy person who can be relied upon;
Able to analyse and solve problems
Be a responsible person who can work in a team environment;
Enthusiastic, professional attitude and understanding of the objectives of the business
