Essendon Private Clinic (EPC) is a 32 bed general mental health facility located in Essendon, Melbourne. The facility cares for private clients that are managed by their treating psychiatrist and admitted for depression, anxiety, bipolar and other general mental health issues. The facility provides inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment.
The highly skilled team of EPC continually develop and incorporate new and developing programs to ensure we deliver high quality and dynamic private Mental health programs. The clinicians of EPC welcome new and return referrals, supporting the GP and emergency services in the northern suburbs.

ABOUT THE POSITION
EPC is seeking a GP / CMO to provide basic medical support to admitted patients. Typically, this comprises addressing any basic medical and health issues. You would provide medical support to patients admitted under the care of Consultant Psychiatrists. You would work at the hospital 3 sessions per week (usually 2 – 3 hours) and you would be paid $200 per attendance plus billings. Out of hours support may be required from time to time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Admitting new patients and following up previous admissions.
- Liaising with the Clinical team and psychiatrists.
- Attending to inpatients requiring general medical services.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- AHPRA registration and medical indemnity
- A current provider number
- Prior experience as a CMO
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated skills in reviewing and documenting patient admissions, management plans and discharge summaries
COMPENSATION
- EPC will pay a fee of $200 per attendance. In addition, you will retain 100% of patient billings
