Hospitality & Barista Trainer and Assessor (SIT - Travel and Tourism)
Full time role based from our Cairns office

Due to continued growth  National Joblink is seeking a passionate and motivated hospitality Trainer and Assessor to join our small, highly motivated professional and friendly team to train Certificate II and III in Hospitality to students across Cairns and surrounding suburbs.

This will be a fun and fulfilling role, empowering the minds of participants with the hands-on skills and knowledge required for them to succeed in their chosen field of study.

About Us:
National Joblink (NJL) is a not-for-profit organisation serving local communities for over 30 years throughout TAS, QLD & the Northern Territory. Today we provide a suite of services under the framework of Workforce Australia, are a specialised RTO, have a successful training restaurant in Cairns, provide outdoor activities at our Tarkine Wilderness Lodge and conduct a Driving School.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent (mandatory)
  • VET qualification in the relevant field backed up with industry experience
  • Current vocational currency and competencies in Certificate III in Hospitality or higher
  • Knowledge of Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) 2015
  • Current Drivers licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Current Working with Children - Blue Card
  • Self-motivated, reliable, flexible and energetic, with a positive outlook 
  • Excellent organisation, communication and people skills both verbally and written 
  • High attention to detail and strong administration and computer skills (MS Office) 
  • Maintain professional development as per ASQA requirements, including maintaining industry currency and vocational competencies to the level of delivery and assessment 
  • Ability to contribute to the operations and "I can make a difference attitude" 
  • Minimum of 2 year’s current and relevant industry experience in the specific vocational area of training. 
  • Be familiar and able to comply with the Inter-cultural awareness and have a flexible attitude. 

 Duties will include:

  • Assist with enrolment of students into their chosen course 
  • Deliver training and assessment to students, face-to-face in a classroom, in the workplace and online 
  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and employers, as required 
  • Maintain student records to ensure compliance 
  • Attend regular meetings with key clients and stakeholders 
  • Assist with compliance requirements in relation to learning and assessment resources 
  • Assist with sourcing vocational placements 
  • Maintain a high level of personal presentation
