Silverwater Resort is an independent successful property in San Remo Victoria, the Gateway to Phillip Island. We are a unique resort with 170 apartments’, spread over 7½ hectares with a full range of resort facilities, including Watermark Restaurant, Lounge Bar, and Conference Facilities with capacity for up to 500 delegates - all this overlooking the magnificent Westernport Bay.
An exciting opportunity has become available for the key role of Hotel Duty Manager at Silverwater Resort.
The Hotel Duty Manager needs to have a comprehensive knowledge of PMS, a full understanding of front office procedures, good attention to detail and superior time management skills; you will need previous experience dealing with REVPAR, yielding and competitor set; you need to be a team player with excellent communication skills and a quick learner; must have the ability to strategize with the team to achieve key financial outcomes; previous experience in the operations of a housekeeping team will also be well regarded.
Must be able to work a flexible roster including opens, closes, weekends, and public holidays.
Key responsibilities include:
· Maintain a strong presence on the Front Desk and ensure the Front Office department operates in the most efficient and profitable way possible.
· Manage the Front Office and reservation team to enhance performance and achieve business goals and service standards.
· Monitor and continually improve the guest experience and customer expectations in a demanding environment
· Work closely with other department heads and be a champion collaborator
· Manage a 7-day Front Office operation with varied rosters covering day/night/weekend shifts including public holidays
· Work closely with the Director of Revenue to maximise rooms revenue and yield effectively across all market segments
Skills and experience required:
· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role or as Hotel Duty Manager of a large hotel / resort
· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a great team in a resort environment
· Understanding of department budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and hotel operating systems
· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with other department heads and key stakeholders
· Professionalism, time management and high organisation skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Immaculate personal presentation and grooming standards
